The KCA, “Arts Against Violence” Songwriting Contest.
The Kehrein Center for the Arts & WALA Cam TV/Silent Click Productions have joined forces to bring
Chicago the 1st Annual “Arts Against Violence” Songwriting Contest. Below are the details and
submission rules, which are compliant with Illinois Sweepstakes and Contest laws.
Each year, artists and songwriters will have the opportunity to not only win a $10,000 cash prize, but
also to showcase their skills and their passion about stopping the violence in Chicago using said skills.
Each contest will have a theme. The artist will choose a track from a list provided to them by Chicago’s
very top producers. This gives the artist the opportunity to use the track without copyright infringement
in the future.
KCA members and WALA Cam TV will formulate a committee to choose the winners. Committee member requirements are as follows:
- Artist or ally of the arts for 5 years or more (Must provide proof)
- Resident of Chicagoland, IL.
- Advocate for the community (Must provide proof)
Fill the form and submit
- Submission date start: January 3rd (Tentative)
- Closing date: March 17th
- 10 Finalist chosen and announced: March 24th
Winner selected: April 7th- Songwriter and/or artist finalist will participate at the Songwriting Contest Showcase in front of judges in the industry at KCA. Each artist will receive 2 free tickets. Entry fee for the public- $15.00 to be purchased on Eventbrite. (All proceeds for event will go to KCA maintenance)
- Grand Prize: $10,000
- Promo package includes
- 20 Radio spins on WALA Radio
- Song added to WALA Cam Spotify playlist (over 1,000,000 streams) and Youtube Channel (over 100,000,000 views and counting!)
- Recording/production for song submitted
- Music video directed by A. Carter Creative Agency & Book of Jaz Productions.
- Invited management companies will be present for the showcase.
- Song added to the A.A.V. mixtape with distribution.
